Biography
Nathalie Singer è nata nel 1969 come figlia di un matrimonio franco-tedesco a Monaco di Baviera. Ha studiato a Berlino e Parigi musica, scienze della comunicazione e psicologia. Inoltre ha frequentato corsi di composizione di musica elettroacustica presso il Groupe de Recherches Musicales (GRM) a Parigi con Beatriz Ferreyra. Dal 1995 ha lavorato come freelance per radiodrammi e come scrittrice, compositrice, regista e produttore per la radio (Radio Free Berlino, Germania Kultur, Bayerischer Rundfunk, West German Radio, Radio France), per il teatro e per il cinema, pubblicando sulla musica elettroacustica e sulla sound art. Ha organizzato vari festival (Invenzioni 1996 e 1998), e le classi di composizione per i bambini presso l’Accademia delle Arti di Berlino (Cybersongosse 2002). In collaborazione con MaerzMusik (Berliner Festspiele) fonda nel 2003 il Sonic Arts Lounge. Dalla fine del 2006 è professore di Radio Sperimentale presso l’Università Bauhaus di Weimar. Una delle principali preoccupazioni del suo lavoro è la comunicazione artistica di nuove idee attraverso vari mezzi e la costruzione di ponti tra le diverse culture e discipline diverse.
Nathalie Singer was born in 1969 as the daughter of a French-German wedding in Monaco of Bavaria. She studied music, communication sciences and psychology in Berlin and Paris. She also attended electroacoustic music composition courses at the Groupe de Recherches Musicales (GRM) in Paris with Beatriz Ferreyra. Since 1995 she has worked as a freelancer for radio plays and as a writer, composer, director and producer for radio (Radio Free Berlin, Germany Kultur, Bayerischer Rundfunk, West German Radio, Radio France), for the theater and cinema, publishing about electroacoustic music and sound art. She has organized various festivals (Inventions 1996 and 1998), and composition classes for children at the Academy of Arts in Berlin (Cybersongosse 2002). In collaboration with MaerzMusik (Berliner Festspiele) she founded in 2003 the Sonic Arts Lounge. Since late 2006, she is professor in role of Experimental Radio at the Bauhaus University of Weimar. A major concern of her work is the artistic communication of new ideas through various means and building bridges between different cultures and disciplines.
