Stranamore – Dispatches from Elsewhere
1 episodi in versione podcastStrangelove – a strange love.
A love of the strange.
Love while estranged.
The bends (le stranie) that come with love and its depth.
Melancholy, alienation, loss. Surprise.
Belonging in between the lines, outside the margins.
Resistance.
Playing in face of defeat.
Curated by Clelia Ciardulli
Clelia Ciardulli is a radio broadcaster, soundscapist, and crucially, a “citizen of elsewhere.” Born in Bolzano, raised in Chiavenna (Italy), shaped by years in Sheffield and Glasgow, and now based in Berlin, her musical journey began with her mother’s record collection before moving onto the dancefloor. After learning the basics of DJing at Red Tape Studios in Sheffield, she found her creative home in projects exploring music as cultural encounter, from the DisOriental nights in Bradford to the DIY experimental scene of The Audacious Art Experiment in Sheffield. Immersed in punk, post-punk, noise and free improvisation, she discovered music as a way of creating spaces for listening, community and critical exchange beyond the conventions of the music industry. In 2014 she spoke at the Guelph Jazz Festival, connecting with the work of Ajay Heble on improvisation, collaboration and cultural practice. Stranamore is an extension of that journey: a sonic space for the strange, the irreverent, and the deeply human.
